Brief

The school needed more rooms without turning its back on the river. The site is narrow, hot in the afternoon, and crossed by a public path.

The plan separates the public route from the teaching wings. Classrooms sit in a stepped bar, shaded by a deep veranda and connected to a single shared yard.

Approach
  1. 01Hold the river path open and build behind it.
  2. 02Use the section, not the plan, to control heat and shade.
  3. 03Give the school one clear shared room instead of a corridor of small ones.

  • 01Painted concrete
